Nick Terranova hasn’t slowed down in the slightest. His new artist
album, This Is What U Need (Ultra Records - Feb 17th, 2009), is a
project that took a year to create, with a move between cities
happening during that time. Produced in between his home studios in LA
and Las Vegas throughout the move, it’s a project that he presents,
“…this album was to make a long player filled with tunes that are all
individually meant for dance floor playing. There isn’t a single tune
on this album that you couldn’t hit the peak hour with. This is why I
named it This Is What U Need, so DJs could have a full album of tunes
they could put to work, and people could use it as a party sound track
at home.”
His inspiration for the music on This Is What U Need
came from many places. The numerous nights he spends on the road,
traveling; playing; meeting other producers and DJs; friends he makes;
moments he experiences. An eclectic blend of genres are apparent on
the album, a little bit House; a bit Electro; a dash of Minimal. His
personal favorite cut from the album is Moments in Time, to which he
attributes “the sultry vocals with the reggae vibe into tech beats.”
Keep
an ear to the floor, you’re bound to be hearing a bit of the Terranova
sound in Miami at this year’s Winter Music Conference, and keep an eye
out for a chance to catch him on tour.
