About Me
A young and fresh artist that has risen amongst the ranks of the new generation of DJs and Producers has been building a name for himself with his signature blend of catchy vocals, thick ground-shaking bass lines and a genre-defying range that’s always in place when he performs around the globe.  Ultra Records' artist Nick Terranova is notorious for his energy and sexiness that are hallmarks of his live shows and his trademarks as a producer and remixer . These stylemarks have made his music sought after and his shows highly attended.

This Las Vegas recent transplant is best known as the man behind the MASSIVE 2007 hit ‘Discoteka’. The very first track released under his Starkillers alias lived at the top of the Billboard Dance and Beatport sales charts, named an "Essential Selection" on Pete Tong’s BBC1 radio show, nominated for Best Underground Track at the IDMAs and was supported by almost every major DJ out there. But the track’s success simply encouraged the hard working producer to get right back into the studio.

Terranova has an impressive list of musical accomplishments: he runs the record label Terratraxx that he started in 2002, has produced a lengthy list of original productions and completed an equally impressive number of high profile remixes. Done both in his own name and under pseudonyms such as Starkillers, Aftertouch, Terranova, Hi_Lo, and Nick Touch, they include remixes of iiO’s "Rapture” and “Is It Love”, Stevie Nick’s "Stand Back," Paul Oakenfold’s "Sex & Money", Holmes & Ives’ "8 Letters," and DJ Dan’s "Rock to the Rhythm" among many other projects.

Nick’s collaborative partnership with close friend (and neighbor) Austin Leeds has been equally successful. The Terranova & Austin Leeds duo have produced a string of hits together, including "Shake Me," "Rock Me," "For the Pills," "Only You," "Dirty Sound" and "Acid Disco", as well remixes of Dario Nunez’s "My World and Dave Spoon’s "This Machine”. They are a dream team on the road as well, headlining numerous "Starkillers vs. Austin Leeds" and "Terranova & Austin Leeds" nights around the country.

Nick Terranova hasn’t slowed down in the slightest. His new artist album, This Is What U Need (Ultra Records - Feb 17th, 2009), is a project that took a year to create, with a move between cities happening during that time. Produced in between his home studios in LA and Las Vegas throughout the move, it’s a project that he presents, “…this album was to make a long player filled with tunes that are all individually meant for dance floor playing.  There isn’t a single tune on this album that you couldn’t hit the peak hour with.  This is why I named it This Is What U Need, so DJs could have a full album of tunes they could put to work, and people could use it as a party sound track at home.”

His inspiration for the music on This Is What U Need came from many places.  The numerous nights he spends on the road, traveling; playing; meeting other producers and DJs; friends he makes; moments he experiences.  An eclectic blend of genres are apparent on the album, a little bit House; a bit Electro; a dash of Minimal.  His personal favorite cut from the album is Moments in Time, to which he attributes “the sultry vocals with the reggae vibe into tech beats.”

Keep an ear to the floor, you’re bound to be hearing a bit of the Terranova sound in Miami at this year’s Winter Music Conference, and keep an eye out for a chance to catch him on tour.
