EV: We heard you just won an award presented by Armin Van Buuren, called the Silver Harp Award, can you tell what that was for?
SVD: Yes, its called the Silver Harp award and its presented to Dutch artists as an incentive and to recognize accomplishments of musicians. Its a real honour and I was shocked to see Armin on that airplane! It was too bad I missed the ceremony, but my team was there on my behalf, so all good!
EV: How do you decide what artists to host on your podcast? SVD: Pretty simple and easy- I ask for mixes from people I think are doing something cool, maybe they have a track I like- sometimes DJ's ask to be on and if I like it, then we put it on!
EV: What’s the latest release from Doorn Records? And will you play it Thursday? SVD: The Love is Darkness remixes are out and I will probably play one of the three. You"ll have to be there to hear which one!
EV: With the world being so viral and internet based, how important do you think Facebook is to promoting your music? SVD: Yes, Facebook is critical for artists today. You are always connected to your fans and I always read what everyone posts!
EV: Did Ultra Music Festival in Miami feel any different with WMC being at a different time? SVD: Not for me, Ultra was an amazing gig and I had the best time playing! Crowd were really into it!!
EV: Did you like the change or not? SVD: I didn't notice - miami was packed with people, it was hard to get a cab- so the usual!
EV: If you could choose any artist from any genre of music to produce a track with who would it be and why? SVD: I would def like to work with Moby. I just like his writing style and he's an interesting guy.
EV: Do you prefer performing live or producing music in the studio? SVD: Both are different loves really! Of course writing music that I can play to people is the best of both!
