Interview with Enrique of SurrealSF

Whichever side of the LOVE/HATE line you stand on regarding Enrique Montero of Surreal SF, you have to give him credit for trying to push the line toward LOVE by pushing the envelope on night life entertainment. Judging by his past events, like Snoop Dogg at the Cow Palace Exotic Erotic, Tommy Lee at Crash on Halloween, and any of his jam-packed events at Suite 181, Fluid, and Club NV, Enrique has to get props for taking risks, being daring, and at least, keeping his head in the game even when his heart is not in it because of the volatility of the night club world.
And although he parties with Raiders, Raiderettes, Niners, Gold Rush Girls, Warriors, Warrior Girls, Rock Stars, Porn Stars, don’t think for a minute that he doesn’t look at it as work. Enrique works feverishly behind the scenes on booking talent, overseeing graphics for flyers, web, MySpace/social networking sites, and even consults night club owners on VIP relations for his events, so that the end product is what is going to make the guests say that they had a surreal experience.
The 2008 Exotic Erotic is no different than all the other events. Enrique was brought on late in the game when the event producers begged him to come on board to boost a meager line-up. And since he was jumping into Exotic Erotic full force, he decided to do an Official Exotic Erotic Afterparty and a Birthday Bash at Club NV on Saturday October 25, which will feature DJs Trevor Simpson and Dimitri Mykonos on the main floor, DJs E-Rock and J Espinosa on the mezzanine floor, and in the VIP Rooms, Playboy Playmate Bobbi Billard and VH1’s Rock of Love star Heather Chadwell along with sex shows by the exotic dancers from the Hustler Club family of clubs and just about every freaky girl in The Bay. So whether you are at the Exotic Erotic or in the city Saturday night trying to keep it lit, bring your Tricks and Treats over to Club NV for an unbelievable after-hours unlike any you have ever witnessed.
Sobo: How many people are you expecting at this event?
Enrique: We are getting an amazing response this year, better than the previous few years and I don’t remember this much hype on the ball since the 25th anniversary; we are expecting close to over 10k hot party people, maybe even up to 15k, no joke!

Sobo: Is there going to be car & driving access to and from the Island?Enrique: Yes and no, you can park on treasure island if you are going to the expo during the day on Friday and Saturday, but parking is very limited due to the amount of people coming into the island for the Ball on Saturday night so the best and easiest way to get to the Ball on Saturday night is to just park your car at AT & T Park and take one of our many luxury party bus shuttles, I mean that is where the party really starts anyways, and the excitement and anticipation will only add to your overall experience! In fact we have luxury shuttle party buses going to and from AT & T Park all night long and will take you right to the front box office and will call! These same luxury shuttle party buses will be taking party people to the after party too, which anytime you can just take a cab to your hotel or back to your original car destination after you’ve had enough at 4 or 5am. There will be plenty of cabs and AT & T Park is only blocks away from the after party location at 525 Howard St (@ 2nd) in San Francisco.
Sobo: Where is the Expo?Enrique: Inside a HUGE airplane/ship hanger which leads to 3 Huge tents outside the hanger with plenty of outside seating and smoking areas with ton’s of portable bathrooms!
On the Island?Yes, on Treasure Island, the view of the city coming in on the party bus shuttles is amazing, right before you enter the main expo arena (hanger). This set up is going to be amazing with over 100 exhibits and over 65 amazing acts on over 5 sexy stages! To celebrate this awesome location, Perry Mann has doubled cash and prizes for his costume contests to $20,000, and also added an arts festival!

Sobo: What is the lineup for the Bling Bling Stage?The lineup is awesome with DJ Rap, one of the world’s top female talents to every get behind the decks, and she is very easy on the eyes too! I am proud to have Hip Hop Legend Tone Loc back on my stage (first time ever at the Ball) to jam his hits Wild Thing and Funky Cold Medina, and up and coming rap superstars Dirt Nasty and Andre Legacy along with Beardo from Mickey Avalon’s Crew Dyslexic Speedreaders!!! I had these guys perform for me last year on Memorial Weekend at Ibiza Hotel and they killed it, I mean, they put on an amazing show!!! Will it be a club-like environment where people will be dancing? Of course, that is why we call it the Bling Bling Live Music Electronic Hip Hop Stage, by the end of the night the room is jumping hard and packed with a great vibe, we don’t want it to end, but that’s why we have the after party right?
Sobo: You have seen the all of the winners in the BEST COSTUME & LINGERIE contests. What kinds of crazy or elaborate things do people have to do to really impress the judges and bring home the cash?Well about 6 years ago I remember a girl going up on stage for the Ms Exotic Erotic Contest and she was the stature of liberty!!! So when it was her turn she took the silver flame candle thing she was holding in the air and stuck it up her butt, and the crowd went wild!!1 I guess it was a dildo!
