I remember the first time I heard the name "DJ Dan". There was something about the way my buddy said "DJ Dan" that told me DJ Dan was a truly loved artist/performer. He looked me straight in the eyes, very earnestly, nodding his head up and down.

"DJ Dan", he said -- as if it was a truism.

The name just sounds right. "DJ Dan".

It's brilliant in its simplicity. Like "Rock & Roll" & "Hip Hop".

Its rolls off the tongue nicely. Go ahead. Say it out loud. "DJ Dan".

DJ Dan is a prominent figure in the dance music culture. Having known him personally for years, I can say that he is a genuinely great guy. Some words to describe his character are: cool, kind, positive, focused & intelligent, to name just a few. Dan laughs often. The kind of infectious laugh that makes everyone around him smile. He is a pleasure to hang out with and makes time for others unselfishly within his exhausting schedule.

It is clear to me how he garnered the unofficial title of "America's Favorite DJ". I think sometimes those grass roots titles are more endearing than the official ones. Now he's got it all.

DJ Dan loves the fans, the business he's in, & it loves him back.

eventvibe: InStereo has been gaining quite a bit of steam over the past year; tell us a bit about the origins of the label and what we can expect in the future.:
Dan: InStereo began in 2001 when I put out my mix compilation titled 'In Stereo'. I knew I was going to name my record label 'InStereo' so I thought this would be a good way to begin branding the name into the dance community. As far as the future is concerned, you can expect to hear about the global 2x4 InStereo Tour with Donald Glaude and myself headlining.

eventvibe: You and fellow DJ Donald Glaude have been friends for some time now. How did you two meet?
Dan: I used to go see Donald Glaude spin at a club in Seattle back in the day. It was at a club called 'The Underground'. He really impressed me with his skills and we've been friends ever since.

eventvibe: Tell us about the upcoming 2x4 tour with Donald and what can a fan expect to see at the show.
Dan: Well as most people in San Diego know, Donald and I have great chemistry on stage together. Last time we played a 2x4 set at On Broadway, the crowd was on fire. It was later that night that we decided to go on tour together. You can expect to see a very energetic performance with both old and new tracks as well as some new productions from the both of us.

eventvibe: As both a DJ and a producer, what aspect of your job do you like best? Worst?
Dan: Everyone always says how jealous they are of me traveling around the world. And it's definitely very cool. When I'm traveling around constantly and dealing with flight delays and cancellations it can become a bit exhausting, but I love being able to see all my friends and fans that I've made all over the world. Every time I'm in a different city there's always a group of friends there to greet me. I really enjoy all the relationships I've established over the years.
