Tom and Jez, collectively known as nu-skool breaks DJ’s/Producers ‘The
AutØbØts’, have established themselves on a worldwide stage, with their
instantly recognizable blend of tearing basslines and funky breaks.
Their label ‘Broke Recordings’ won the coveted ‘Breakthru
Label’ award in the 2005 ‘Breakspoll’ award ceremony @ Fabric in
London, and came runner up in the ‘Best Label’ category in 2006.
‘Broke’ recordings are consistently found in the record bags and CD cases of many internationally recognized artists.
Fat Boy Slim, The Crystal Method, Krafty Kuts, DJ Icey, The Plump
Djs and Stanton Warriors, all champion the sound, as do thousands of
other professional DJ’s and enthusiasts alike.
‘Broke’ is a regular player on Radio stations worldwide, scoring
numerous rewinds with BBC Radio1's Zane Lowe & Annie Nightingale,
to name but a few.
Their music often features on TV and in film, most recently in an episode of the poular drama CSi-Miami.
When it comes to live performances, The AutØbØts have racked up
hundreds of shows over the last 6 years, many in their homeland UK, at
clubs and events such as Eargasm @ Fabric, Fuse, Breakspoll, Raindance,
and Spectrum.
They also made appearances at Reading and Guildford festivals in
2003, and Glastonbury in 2004 as well as V Festival and The Glade in
2005.
Abroad, the ‘BØts’ are often found entertaining audiences in
countries as diverse as Japan, Canada, Russia, Australia, Czech
Republic, New Zealand, Latvia, Hungary, Spain (over 30 times, including
performing to 10,000 people at the Esparrago festival), and have toured
the USA 14 times, including appearances @ Winter Music Conference
Miami, in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008.
These regular international excursions have helped to extended
The AutØbØts global appeal and the duo is subsequently attracting
interest from all quarters.
Aside from the Autobots, Tom also moonlights as Bez's (Happy Mondays)
DJ partner, and regularly gigs worldwide with the freaky dancer.
